Papers Format

The length of the paper should be commensurate with its contributions, up to a maximum of eight (8) pages. For example, a useful idea presented completely and concisely in four pages is more likely to be accepted than the same idea presented in eight pages. The length limit includes figures, which may be in color because the proceedings will be printed in full color throughout. Relevant previous work must always be cited and clearly compared. Keywords should be included, as described at http://www.acm.org/class/1998/. The review process is not blind, so there is no need to anonymize identifying author information.

Papers should be submitted as PDF (portable document format) in the SIGGRAPH paper format, as described at http://www.siggraph.org/publications/instructions/. To summarize:

Papers Submission Process

All paper submissions are electronic, and we are using the Conference Management Toolkit graciously provided by Microsoft Research:

http://msrcmt.research.microsoft.com/infovis/2003/

You will need to register as a new user and provide contact information, then you will upload your abstract as ASCII text and your entire paper as a PDF file. The CMT site will require you to indicate the subject area for your paper: Technique, System, Design Study, Evaluation, or Model.

See the Video Submission Process below for information on how to submit accompanying digital video.

Posters Submission Process

All poster submissions are electronic, and we are using the Conference Management Toolkit generously provided by Microsoft Research:

http://msrcmt.research.microsoft.com/INFOVISPOSTERS2003/

The CMT site will require you to indicate category of your submission as a "subject area": Poster+Demo, Poster+Video, Poster+Video+Demo, Static Poster Only.

See the Video Submission Process below for information on how to submit accompanying digital video.

Accompanying Video Submission Process

Digital videos must be no longer than 5 minutes and should be uploaded to ftp://infovis.stanford.edu/incoming/iv03videos. Note that the incoming ftp directory will not be readable, so you will not be able to personally confirm that the upload is complete. Please follow the following naming conventions: concatenate your first and last names for the filename stem, and use the format of your video as a suffix (either 'avi', 'mpg', or 'qt'). For example, if your name is "Paul Atreides" and you have two files, you would name them 'paulatreides1.mpg' and 'paulatreides2.mpg'.

Please include a line at the TOP of CMT box where you paste the abstract text stating that you are including digital video with your submission, and giving the filenames.
