CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS *The Workshop on the BoatDigital Tools for Connecting with Blue Spaces* A workshop held at *AVI 2026 Conference in Venice* https://wontheboat.altervista.org *Important Dates* Submission deadline: March 29th, 2026 Notification of acceptance: April 10th, 2026 Workshop: June 9, 2026 *Submission form:* https://forms.gle/VxTR1vDR8UcXAYS8A A full-day *workshop held on a boat *in the Venice Lagoon, exploring the connection with natural spaces, a theme of great interest not only for improving the *awareness* about the importance of natural spaces that surround us, but also for their demonstrated *benefits for physical and mental health*. *Digital tools* can play an important role in fostering connection with natural spaces by *informing*, *stimulating*, or *facilitating immersive experiences*. The journey will be an opportunity to *discuss* these *issues* and *explore the related design space through activities* inspired by the *most naturalistic part of the Venice Lagoon*. The field trip will be supported by a *marine ecologist *who will introduce you to the aquatic environment and its connections with humans and other living beings inhabiting the Lagoon, to inspire your work. The workshop is organized as a *full-day activity*, hosted on a *hybrid boat* that will depart *from San Servolo* (the AVI 2026 conference site https://www.unive.it/avi2026) in the morning and travel in the North Lagoon.
