*Call for Papers* *Future Generation Computer Systems* *The International Journal of eScience* *Special Issue on “Advanced Technologies and Systems for collaboration**”* *Abstract Submission Deadline: **March 15, 2017* *Full Manuscript Submission Deadline: **April 24, 2017* *SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES* The high development of Web technologies, pervasive and ubiquitous systems and networks, highly distributed computing systems, and the availability of massive amounts of data have been changing the field of computer supported collaboration, particularly with the emergence of new capabilities and forms of collaboration, as well as new challenges and issues. The organizers of the International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS) are pleased to announce a special journal issue that will be published in *Future Generation Computer Systems (**https://www.journals.elsevier.com/future-generation-computer-systems/ <https://www.journals.elsevier.com/future-generation-computer-systems/>**)*. This special issue seeks contributions from academia, industry and governmental research labs on a broad spectrum of methodologies and technologies, including ethnographically-based or field-based experiences, that relate to cooperation, coordination, communication, and collaboration at both the client and backend (cloud) levels. In case of an extended version, please indicate clearly where the original work was published or presented. Guest Editors replies to authors will be sent by *March 23, 2017**. *Only manuscripts of approved abstracts will be considered. The submitted papers must be original and must not be under consideration in any other venue. This Special Issue is open to all potential contributors on the topics listed above. We additionally invite contributors of the 2016 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems to submit an extended version of their work. In this case, there must be sufficient difference between work previously reported in conference paper and the version submitted to the Journal for the two works to be seen as separate works. As a rule of thumb, the journal version must be updated by 30% or more (e.g., extended methodology, more research results, new figures and or tables, etc.) and, hence, have a new title. The number of pages of the submitted paper should be related to the content of the paper: superfluous material is to be avoided. Submitted papers will receive thorough reviews and evaluation.
