He or she will develop research on the design and appropriation of data intelligibility systems. His or her expected field of expertise covers the visual production of data through the use of digital and interactive information and communication technologies, and the development of interactive data exploration systems. The successful candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary and transverse field in Information and Communication. He or she will be able to work in collaboration with other research entities, including in the fields of computer science, economics and law. He or she will also be able to interact with the corresponding professional worlds. Abilities in the management of applied research projects, in partnership with the private and public sectors, will be an asset. The successful candidate will be involved in continuing education. He or she will teach in the area of theory and history of information design. He or she will oversee practical work in the various professional fields covered by the curricula of the School of Communication (COMU / ESPO): businesses, for-profit and non-profit organizations, cultural organizations, journalism. He or she will be able to work in teams and develop innovative educational projects. He or she will also be able to teach more general courses related to the foundations of Information and Communication Sciences. He or she will be able to teach the technical aspects of information design and articulate them tightly to information and communication theories, in their different fields. Il ou elle développera des recherches portant sur la conception et l'appropriation de dispositifs d'intelligibilité de données. Le champ d’expertise recherché couvre la production visuelle de données en recourant aux technologies de l’information et de la communication digitale et interactive, le développement de systèmes interactifs d’exploration des données. Le ou la titulaire travaillera dans un champ fortement interdisciplinaire et transversal en Information et communication. Il ou elle sera capable de travailler en collaboration avec d’autres entités de recherche, y compris dans les champs des sciences informatiques, économiques et juridiques. Il ou elle sera également capable de dialoguer avec les mondes professionnels concernés. Des capacités de gestion de projets de recherche appliquée, en partenariat avec les secteurs privés et publics constitueront un avantage. Le ou la titulaire pourra s’impliquer dans la formation continue. Il ou elle assurera des enseignements en théorie et en histoire du design de l’information. Il ou elle encadrera des travaux pratiques transversaux dans les différents champs professionnels couverts par l’enseignement de l’École de communication (COMU/ESPO) : entreprises, organisations marchandes et non marchandes, organisations culturelles, journalisme. Il ou elle sera capable de travailler en équipe et de développer des projets pédagogiques novateurs. Il ou elle sera également capable de dispenser des cours plus généraux relevant des fondements de l’Information et communication. Il ou elle sera capable d’enseigner les dimensions techniques du design de l’information en les articulant étroitement aux théories de l’information et de la communication, en leurs différents champs.
