About the project: Unravelling email data through interactive visual data analysis We are looking for a curious and pragmatic PhD candidate to apply human-assisted machine learning and predictive analytics through visual analytics and design interactive dynamic visualisations of email content. This process will be built on Redsift's stream processing platform and the candidate will be working closely with the Redsift engineering team to refine and validate the services and components that will later be offered to the wider academic community. An ideal candidate would: - Have a strong academic background and interest in data visualisation, search, machine learning techniques and the associated statistical modelling and validation. - Have knowledge with software development in a modern programming language such as Go, DLang, Rust or Java 8 and Javascript based visualisation tools e.g. D3.js. and interest in NLP techniques. The scholarship provides an annual bursary (£16,000 in 2015/16) and a full tuition fee waiver for three years.
