The Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT and the Department of Computer Science are looking for a skilled

DOCTORAL STUDENT

The position is initially offered for four years with a 4-month trial period.

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki welcomes applications for a doctoral student in Human-Computer Interaction in particular: 
1) Multimodal Interaction, for example gesture, touch, eye gaze 
2) Mobile urban Augmented Reality for Cultural Access 
3) Interactive Visualisation for Exploratory Search. 

The student will be working on a long-term project with Professor Giulio Jacucci, as part of the Ubiquitous Interaction (UIx) group (http://www.hiit.fi/uix).

Successful applicants should have a Master's degree or equivalent qualification in computer science or other related field and demonstrate strong skills in either programming, scientific work, or design.

The starting salary in PhD Positions follows the guidelines of Finnish universities (level 2), and the salary increases as the PhD work progress and includes healthcare benefits.
