Live long and prosper, dear vis researchers and everyone into SciFi! 🖖 I'm thrilled to beam down a little opportunity your way: 🚀 SciFi-VIS 2026 — Call for Participation Way Out There: How SciFi and Visualization Influence Each Other — a half-day hybrid workshop at IEEE VIS 2026 exploring the two-way relationship between science fiction and data visualization: how speculative ideas inspire research, and how visualization shapes our imagined futures. Expect a keynote, lightning talks, and cross-disciplinary discussions. Submit a short/position paper (~1000 words) or a more flexible format like a poster, demo, or SciFi scene analysis.
