Hi, Please consider nominating suitable folks for these awards. To remind you, anyone can be a nominator. Think of those who are qualified for any of these awards and please nominate them. You can make nominations to multiple awards. For example, you can nomination someone for VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award and someone else to the VGTC Visualization Career Award and someone else to the VGTC Significant New Researcher Award. This is an excellent way to recognize those in the field you respect and believe are qualified! The IEEE VGTC Visualization Awards program recognizes and honors individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community through their research and/or service. Furthermore, we seek out nominations of individuals that enable us to recognize both the diversity of individuals, as well as diversity of contributions, from the community at large. The VGTC Visualization Awards Program has five awards plus induction to the IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy: VGTC Visualization Dissertation Award The Doctoral Dissertation Award recognizes outstanding academic research and development in the field. VGTC Visualization Significant New Researcher Award The VGTC Significant New Researcher Award recognizes an individual who has made significant recent research contributions in the field. VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award The Technical Achievement Award is given each year to recognize an individual for a seminal technical achievement and/or significant contribution in the field. VGTC Visualization Lifetime Achievement Award The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual to honor that person’s lifetime contribution to the field. VGTC Visualization Service Award The IEEE VGTC Service Award recognizes extraordinary service to the community through the IEEE VGTC and/or the IEEE VGTC Sponsored Conferences and Symposia. VGTC Visualization Academy Selection The IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy is a prestigious academy that highlights the accomplishments of the leaders in the field. The criteria for these awards can be found at: https://tc.computer.org/vgtc/award-criteria Nominations are due by April 30, 2022. Nominations, except Dissertation award, should contain the name of the person nominated, the awards for which they are nominated, the short citation for the award, and a summary that carefully addresses the criteria below while not exceeding 600 words. Dissertation Award nominations should include: (1) The title and abstract of the dissertation, (2) the name of the candidate, (3) the name of the candidate’s primary advisor, (4) the institution where the dissertation was defended, (5) the date of the dissertation defense, (6) A 1-2 page summary of the significance and impact of the dissertation research, (7) an electronic copy of the full dissertation, or a pointer to where it can be obtained, (8) one letter of recommendation, up to 2 pages in length, ideally from the candidate’s primary advisor, and (9) a list of publications, awards, and other recognition by peers produced from the dissertation work. ESANN 2022 - 30th European Symposium on Artificial Neural Networks, Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning Bruges, Belgium and online, 5-6-7 October 2022 https://www.esann.org 2nd Call for Papers The call for papers is available at https://www.esann.org. Deadline for submissions: May 9, 2022. The ESANN conferences cover machine learning, artificial neural networks, statistical information processing and computational intelligence. Mathematical foundations, algorithms and tools, and applications are covered. In addition to regular sessions, 5 special sessions will be organized on the following topics: - Machine Learning and Information Theoretic Methods for Molecular Biology and Medicine - Continual Learning beyond classification - Deep Semantic Segmentation Models in Computer Vision - Anomaly and change point detection - Deep Learning for Graphs ESANN 2022 builds upon a successful series of conferences organized each year since 1993. ESANN has become a major scientific event in the machine learning, computational intelligence and artificial neural networks fields over the years. Call for papers: MLVis 2022 : Machine Learning Methods in Visualisation for Big Data

MLVis 2022: Machine Learning Methods in Visualisation for Big Data https://www.tuni.fi/mlvis2022/ MLVis 2022 will be a co-located workshop at EuroVis 2022. It aims to bring Machine Learning and Visualization researchers together in order to exchange research ideas. We solicit short papers on machine learning methods in visualisation, from both the machine learning and visualisation communities, addressing how the two technologies can be used together to provide greater insight to end users. Paper submissions for MLVis should be at most 4 pages in MLVis 2022 latex style (provided on the website), with an additional page allowed for references. Papers are to be submitted via the PCS system, link on the website. At least one author of an accepted paper must register and participate in the MLVis 2022 workshop to present the accepted work. Proceedings will be published by the Eurographics Association, and be stored on the Eurographics Digital Library. Important Dates: Submission deadline: April 15, 2022 Notification deadline: May 6, 2022 Camera-ready deadline: May 13, 2022 Workshop: June 13, 2022 All submission deadlines are at 23:59 Anywhere on Earth on the date indicated.

BioVis Community, Abstract submissions for Biovis ISBM are open! The deadline for both talks and posters is April 21, at 11:59 p.m. Any Time Zone. ISMB 2022 will offer both in-person and virtual attendance. Submitters may choose to have their submission reviewed for (1) talk and poster or (2) poster only. If you select talk and poster and are unsuccessful for a talk your abstract will automatically be considered for a poster presentation. Submissions for ISMB 2022 abstracts can be done here: https://easychair.org/account/signin?l=a812tT5TdfK8sggh1grkSL For Talks: Talks this year will be live/virtual. Participants are encouraged to submit short abstracts describing their recently published work related to biological data visualization or extended abstracts discussing unpublished work. If accepted, participants are required to present their work in a talk at the symposium. Authors of rejected talks will be invited to submit a poster. Published work: Authors are required to submit a short abstract (250 words). Abstracts should include a concise description of the work and may include descriptive figures. The previously published paper must be submitted along with the abstract unless the paper is open access. Unpublished work: Authors are required to submit an extended abstract (1500 words). The text should include a concise description of the work and have descriptive figures (For Unpublished work only): Your abstract must not contain your title/position or any personal information (e.g. affiliation). These details will be collected through the EasyChair submission system. For Posters: We invite participants to submit work in progress and preliminary results, previously published work from other venues or visualization challenges to be presented as a poster and/or interactive demo. A selection of these will be invited to give a short talk during the conference. This will also be live/virtual. Authors are required to submit a short abstract (250 words). Abstracts should include a concise description of an idea, work in progress, preliminary results, visualization challenges, or previously published work presented at other venues that is also relevant to the BioVis community. If the submission is based on previous work, the published paper must be submitted along with the summary, unless the paper is open access, where instead a direct link to the open-access version should be provided.
