The IEEE VGTC Visualization Awards program recognizes and honors individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community through their research and/or service. Please nominate individuals that enable us to recognize both the diversity of individuals and the diversity of contributions from the community at large. There are six categories of VGTC Visualization Awards. *VGTC Visualization Dissertation Award:* recognizes outstanding academic research and development in the field. Eligibility: within 2 calendar years of defending. *VGTC Visualization Significant New Researcher Award:* recognizes an individual who has made significant recent research contributions in the field. Eligibility: most recent degree within 7 years. *VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award:* recognizes an individual for a seminal technical achievement and/or significant contribution in the field. *VGTC Visualization Lifetime Achievement Award:* given to an individual to honor that person’s lifetime contribution to the field. *VGTC Visualization Service Award:* recognizes extraordinary service to the community through the IEEE VGTC and/or the IEEE VGTC Sponsored Conferences and Symposia. *VGTC Visualization Academy:* induction into the Academy recognizes the accomplishments of the leaders in the field. New in 2026: a single nomination can be routed to all three of the senior awards: Lifetime, Technical, and Academy. Nominations should provide a rationale that carefully addresses the criteria specified at the above URL that does not exceed 600 words, and also a one-sentence summary, for most of the awards. For the Dissertation Award, nominations should provide - title and abstract of the dissertation, - name of the candidate, - name of the candidate’s primary advisor, - institution where the dissertation was defended, - date of the dissertation defense, - a 1-2 page summary of the significance and impact of the dissertation research, - an electronic copy of the full dissertation, or a pointer to where it can be obtained, - one letter of recommendation, up to 2 pages in length, ideally from the candidate’s primary advisor, - a list of publications, awards, and other recognition by peers produced from the dissertation work. Dear VIS Community, The 4th workshop on visualization education, literacy, and activities will be held at the IEEE VIS 2026 conference in Boston, United States, with the option to join online. The EduVis workshop aims to become the primary forum to share and discuss advances, challenges, and methods at the intersection of visualization and education. Submission Guidelines and Reviewing Criteria The workshop will accept two types of submissions, peer-reviewed by at least two PC members and one workshop organizer. Paper submissions: full papers (4-8 pages excluding references, must follow the formatting guidelines for VGTC Conference Style Template); submissions will be published at the IEEE Xplore with authors’ permission. Dear colleagues, The IEEE VIS 2026 Poster Program (Boston, MA, Nov 9-13) welcomes contributions that showcase emerging ideas, work in progress, follow-up or extended studies, practical applications, and evaluations of existing visualization techniques. Examples of appropriate visualization work include, but are not limited to - research exploring new problems, ideas or areas, - early results and demos of pilot projects, - new angles on existing (collections of) work or known datasets, - provoking perspectives, - work-in-progress presented prior to its full publication, - any work that might particularly benefit from demonstration to and active discussion with the visualization community, - the application of visualization techniques, - synthesized highlights of recent work published or presented in another venue: submissions need to contain original content, i.e., no verbatim re-submissions of existing work is allowed (please see the plagiarism statement in the end). The presentation of posters will happen as a physical event at the conference. There will be a dedicated poster session in which poster authors can meet and discuss their work with conference participants. An additional web presence of posters will supplement the traditional physical installation of poster boards. More concrete details will follow soon, with the goal of creating an engaging atmosphere. Deep learning is a branch of artificial intelligence covering a spectrum of current frontier research and industrial innovation that provides more efficient algorithms to deal with large-scale data in a huge variety of environments: computer vision, neurosciences, speech recognition, language processing, human-computer interaction, drug discovery, biomedicine and healthcare, medical image analysis, recommender systems, advertising, fraud detection, robotics, games, business and finance, biotechnology, physics and astrophysics, biometrics, communications, climate sciences, geographic information systems, signal processing, genomics, materials design, video technology, social systems, earth and sustainability, mathematical proofs, etc. etc. The field is also raising a number of relevant questions about efficiency and robustness of the algorithms, explainability, transparency, interpretability, risks and safety, as well as important ethical concerns at the frontier of current knowledge that deserve careful multidisciplinary discussion. Most deep learning subareas will be displayed and main challenges identified through 16 four-hour and a half courses, 2 keynote lectures, 1 round table, and a hackathon competition among participants. Renowned academics and industry pioneers will lecture and share their views with the audience. The organizers are convinced that outstanding speakers will attract the brightest and most motivated students. Face to face interaction and networking will be main ingredients of the event. It will be also possible to fully participate in vivo remotely. ADDRESSED TO: Graduates, postgraduates and industry practitioners will be typical profiles of participants. However, there are no formal pre-requisites for attendance in terms of academic degrees, hence people less or more advanced in their career will be welcome as well. For logistical reasons, it will be helpful to have an estimation of the respective demand for each course. Since the capacity of the venue is limited, registration requests will be processed on a first come first served basis. The registration period will be closed and the on-line registration tool disabled when the capacity of the venue will have got exhausted. It is highly recommended to register prior to the event. FEES: Fees comprise access to all program activities and lunches. There are several early registration deadlines. Fees depend on the registration deadline. The fees for on site and for online participation are the same.
