Demos should interest the broad XR community and be presentable in a conference setting exhibiting new and innovative work. The conference will provide basic infrastructure. Additionally, authors of accepted demos will present an overview in a fast-forward research demonstration session to summarize their demo and relate it to research being performed at their lab. The research demonstrations will be an in-person event. Submission Guidelines A demo proposal should include: - A two-page extended abstract (including references) in PDF format describing the demo and the research. This will be published in the abstract and workshop proceedings. Please provide the abstract in IEEE format, see below. - A schematic of the layout (a separate document showing components, such as projectors/cameras) : Template .docx <https://ieeevrpublicity-dot-yamm-track.appspot.com/2i22U0oZc-O2bdOqd4XUjnXf…> - A 3-5 minute instructional video that walks viewers through the research project and showcases the demo in action. Please provide an accessible URL in the submission. A YouTube or Vimeo link is highly recommended. If accepted, we plan to use the video as something attendees can view asynchronously. Submissions to the research demo track must be written in English. The submission materials should clearly describe the system's overall architecture or technology demonstrated. Authors should emphasize the work's motivation, applications, novelty, and research direction. Submissions need not be anonymized but maybe if the authors prefer. Dear colleagues, We are hiring a fully funded PhD Student at Utrecht University, NL! Do you want to develop a Visual Analytics solution to help therapists monitor the rehabilitation of visually impaired patients? This PhD project is for you! In this PhD project, several teams (clinical centers, serious game developers, and academic institutions) combine their multidisciplinary skills to create and deploy a solution for rehabilitating patients having visual impairments by offering them training scenarios using a virtual reality (VR) setup. As PhD candidate in this project, you will conduct independent, high-quality research resulting in a doctoral dissertation. Your research will focus on designing a Visual Analytics solution to analyse data from rehabilitating patients with hemianopsia (partial blindness). With the support of explainable AI models, you will develop Visual Analytics dashboards for exploring complex data recorded from the training patients including eye tracking, task progress, and success rates. By quantifying model uncertainty, these dashboards will enable therapists to monitor and improve patients’ visual rehabilitation progress. Submission Guidelines Workshop submissions require a short two-page maximum proposal and a call for papers (CFP). - The Workshop Proposal is an internal document for decision-making purposes only. (Typical workshop rooms will have between 30 and 80 seats; if you seriously expect more, please indicate an estimation of attendees) - How long do you expect the workshop to be? Most workshops are half-day events, but full-day is possible, typically for established workshops with significant numbers of submissions. Workshops are optional to have papers that will be submitted to IEEE Digital Library. It is a powerful motivation for authors, but it will require adhering to some main conference deadlines, so you may have to do your reviews reasonably quickly to make it in time (see important dates above). - List any technical requirements for workshop hosting, including space, audio/visual, computer, and communication needs. Workshop rooms typically have a projector and presenter podium. If you need anything else (power for demos, tables for discussion, poster boards for posters, etc.), please include it here. We cannot promise to provide everything, but we will try as much as possible. - Do you have constraints on which day the workshop needs to be? This typically depends on the keynote speaker's availability.
