Call for papers: MLVis 2025, Machine Learning Methods in Visualisation for Big Data Machine Learning Methods in Visualisation for Big Data will be held as part of EuroVis 2025 in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. The tenth edition of this co-located event will be part-tutorial and part-workshop so as to increase the interaction between researchers. Part of the MLVis 2025 programme will consist of short papers. We solicit short papers on machine learning methods in visualisation from both the machine learning and visualisation communities, addressing how the two technologies can be used together to provide greater insight to end users. ##################################################### 2nd Workshop on Visual Process Analytics (VIPRA 2025) https://vipra-workshop.github.io/homepage/ ##################################################### Call for Papers ---------------- The 2025 Workshop on Visual Process Analytics (Vipra 2025) is the 2nd annual workshop that provides an opportunity for participants to discuss state-of-the-art event visualization and process mining and learn how both techniques can mutually benefit each other. In this workshop we aim to bring together researchers from both Visual Analytics and Process Mining, to learn, create a common language, spark collaborations, and advance both fields. Process Mining is a data-driven discipline that focuses on extracting valuable insights and knowledge from the vast amount of event data generated within organizations. It involves the discovery, analysis, and improvement of process models by leveraging techniques from data science, machine learning, and data analytics. By examining event logs and historical data, process mining aims to provide a clear, objective view of how processes actually operate, identifying bottlenecks, deviations, and opportunities for optimization. In turn, this supports organizations in making more data-informed decisions, and enhance operational efficiency. Visual analytics is an interdisciplinary field that combines data visualization, analytical techniques, and interactive interfaces to help people make sense of complex and often large datasets. It focuses on using the power of visual representations to facilitate data exploration, pattern recognition, and decision-making. By enabling users to interact with data through graphical interfaces, visual analytics promotes a deeper understanding of information, uncovers hidden insights, and supports the detection of trends, anomalies, and relationships that might be challenging to discern through traditional data analysis methods alone. We believe that process mining and visual analytics can mutually benefit each other. Until now, there has been limited interaction between the two fields, despite their shared objectives. In process mining, the emphasis has traditionally been on data extraction and process discovery, often neglecting the visualization aspect, whereas in visual analytics, event visualization efforts have often overlooked the wealth of process mining techniques that can enhance visualizations and analysis. Bridging this gap and fostering collaboration between the two fields will not only lead to more informed, efficient, and data-driven improvements in various domains but also advance the research and innovation in both process mining and visual analytics, ultimately contributing to a more holistic and integrated approach to understanding and optimizing complex processes. Topics and Scope ---------------- We encourage submissions from all areas on the intersection of visual analytics and process mining. The 2025 Workshop on Visual Process Analytics will cover a range of topics exploring the intersection of PM and VA including (but not limited to): - VA to support exploration and comparison of discovered process models - VA to support the comparison of event logs and process models, e.g., in conformance checking - VA to support the generation of hypotheses about the business process and the identification of process improvement ideas - VA to represent temporal and spatial uncertainty in PM models - Research challenges, pitfalls, and opportunities related to the intersection of VA and PM - The role of AI in PM, and how Visualization and explainable-AI solutions can support model comprehension, exploration, and refinement - Research on the use of VA in BPM and PM practice (user studies, task taxonomies, etc.) Paper Submission, Publication, and Format Guidelines -------------------------------------- We will accept short papers with up to 8 pages and regular papers with up to 15 pages. Call for Submission: VisGames - Workshop on Visualization Play, Games, and Activities

Dear community members, With the upcoming deadline ⏰ (March 14, 2025) for the VisGames workshop at EuroVis 2025 approaching, here's a reminder about this exciting event 🎉. Our mission is to advance visualization games and playful activities as dynamic tools for communication, co-creation, and collaborative problem-solving in interdisciplinary environments and contexts. This workshop will showcase innovative uses of visualization games beyond education, emphasizing their potential to enrich dialogue, build shared understanding, and inspire creative solutions in real-world contexts. The half-day workshop will feature an opening and fast-forward session, two hands-on World Café-style sessions for exploring submitted visualization games, and a reflection session for discussing experiences and concluding the workshop. Important Dates All deadlines are at 11:59 pm (23:59) AoE Anywhere on Earth (AoE) March 14, 2025: Extended Abstract April 16, 2025: Author Notification (before early bird registration for EuroVis) May 2, 2025: Camera Ready (4 weeks prior to conference) Workshop Goals and Scope of Topics With this workshop, we aim to: * Demonstrate visualization games (e.g., card games, digital games, etc.) and engage with the audience by playing the games at the conference, in a World Café setting. * Publish extended abstract (2--6 pages in the VisGames template format). Further, we intend to publish games on the online blog Nightingale, run by the Data Visualization Society. * Curate a repository for collecting and sharing visualization games for diverse audiences (e.g., children/adult learning, data journalists/data scientists/computer scientists/designers) in different scenarios (e.g., onsite, online, hybrid). * Create a discussion platform to create new game or activity ideas, exchange experiences, best practices, and challenges while developing visualization games. Workshop Topics The following topics fall within the scope of the workshop, but we encourage broader contributions. * Games supporting Storytelling, Idea Generation, decision-making, stakeholder engagement, visualization design evaluation, etc. * Visualization activities * Serious games * Digital games (e.g., mobile, web, video games, etc.) * Analog games (e.g., board games, card games, etc.) * Educational games * Gamification approaches Submission Guidelines and Reviewing Process The workshop’s extended abstract will be peer-reviewed by at least two PC members and one workshop organizer. The maximum length for submitted extended abstract to the VisGames workshop is 2-6 pages (in Computer Graphics Forum (CGF) style, including all images and acknowledgements, excluding references). Submissions must be made using the Computer Graphics Forum style, using the conference LaTeX template for workshops.
