Machine Learning Methods in Visualisation for Big Data will be held as part of EuroVis 2026 in Nottingham, United Kingdom. The eleventh edition of this co-located event will be part-tutorial and part-workshop so as to increase the interaction between researchers. Part of the MLVis 2026 programme will consist of short papers. We solicit short papers on machine learning methods in visualisation from both the machine learning and visualisation communities, addressing how the two technologies can be used together to provide greater insight to end users. Topics include but are not limited to: Explainable Machine Learning, Dimensionality Reduction, Visualisation of Clustering, Regression, and Classification, Steerable Machine Learning, Visualisation to Improve Machine Learning Models, Automation of Visualisation and Visual Analytics, Visualisation and Machine Learning in Text Analytics, Visualisation in Online Machine Learning. The Bellwether Postdoctoral Scholar program at the UC Berkeley School of Information is designed to allow exceptionally promising young researchers the time to develop their own research while collaborating with leading established faculty. It is designed to accelerate careers, and to maximize the ability of Bellwether Postdoctoral Scholars to build independent research trajectories. To accomplish this, a portion (30-40%) of each post-doc’s time will be reserved for their own independent research and publication efforts, including publishing results from their dissertation. Additionally, all Bellwether Postdoctoral Scholars will work with a mentor or mentors on research projects in specific areas (60-70%). There are several emphasis areas, one of which is relevant to the information visualization community: BPS 5: The goal of this postdoctoral position is to contribute to the development of an empirically-backed theoretical understanding of how people make sense of the combination of graphic and textual information. We seek a scholar with expertise in some combination of information visualization, the psychology of reading and/or diagram interpretation, and cognitive science or neuroscience more generally to investigate human conception at the intersection of language and information visualization. *Expertise in conducting and analyzing eye gaze is a requirement of the position*. Deep learning is a branch of artificial intelligence covering a spectrum of current frontier research and industrial innovation that provides more efficient algorithms to deal with large-scale data in a huge variety of environments: computer vision, neurosciences, speech recognition, language processing, human-computer interaction, drug discovery, biomedicine and healthcare, medical image analysis, recommender systems, advertising, fraud detection, robotics, games, business and finance, biotechnology, physics and astrophysics, biometrics, communications, climate sciences, geographic information systems, signal processing, genomics, materials design, video technology, social systems, earth and sustainability, mathematical proofs, etc. etc. The field is also raising a number of relevant questions about efficiency and robustness of the algorithms, explainability, transparency, interpretability, risks and safety, as well as important ethical concerns at the frontier of current knowledge that deserve careful multidisciplinary discussion. Most deep learning subareas will be displayed and main challenges identified through 16 four-hour and a half courses, 2 keynote lectures, 1 round table, and a hackathon competition among participants. Renowned academics and industry pioneers will lecture and share their views with the audience. The organizers are convinced that outstanding speakers will attract the brightest and most motivated students. Face to face interaction and networking will be main ingredients of the event. It will be also possible to fully participate in vivo remotely. ADDRESSED TO: Graduates, postgraduates and industry practitioners will be typical profiles of participants. However, there are no formal pre-requisites for attendance in terms of academic degrees, hence people less or more advanced in their career will be welcome as well. In this workshop we aim to bring together researchers from both Visual Analytics and Process Mining, to learn, create a common language, spark collaborations, and advance both fields. Process Mining is a data-driven discipline that focuses on extracting valuable insights and knowledge from the vast amount of event data generated within organizations. It involves the discovery, analysis, and improvement of process models by leveraging techniques from data science, machine learning, and data analytics. By examining event logs and historical data, process mining aims to provide a clear, objective view of how processes actually operate, identifying bottlenecks, deviations, and opportunities for optimization. In turn, this supports organizations in making more data-informed decisions, and enhance operational efficiency. Visual analytics is an interdisciplinary field that combines data visualization, analytical techniques, and interactive interfaces to help people make sense of complex and often large datasets. It focuses on using the power of visual representations to facilitate data exploration, pattern recognition, and decision-making. By enabling users to interact with data through graphical interfaces, visual analytics promotes a deeper understanding of information, uncovers hidden insights, and supports the detection of trends, anomalies, and relationships that might be challenging to discern through traditional data analysis methods alone. We believe that process mining and visual analytics can mutually benefit each other. Until now, there has been limited interaction between the two fields, despite their shared objectives. In process mining, the emphasis has traditionally been on data extraction and process discovery, often neglecting the visualization aspect, whereas in visual analytics, event visualization efforts have often overlooked the wealth of process mining techniques that can enhance visualizations and analysis. Bridging this gap and fostering collaboration between the two fields will not only lead to more informed, efficient, and data-driven improvements in various domains but also advance the research and innovation in both process mining and visual analytics, ultimately contributing to a more holistic and integrated approach to understanding and optimizing complex processes. Topics and Scope ---------------- We encourage submissions from all areas on the intersection of visual analytics and process mining. Students who wish to present their work at the symposium must submit a 3-page report describing – their thesis topic and the approach being taken, – the work that has been completed, – the expected contributions of the research, – any necessary acknowledgements (for example, supervision team and source funding) Students should be the sole authors of their submission, and the supervisor's name should be included in the acknowledgements section. *The report must be submitted in Springer LNCS format.* *Students who submit to the graduate symposium must ask their main or lead supervisor to submit a short supporting statement.* The supporting statement should confirm that the supervisor supports the student’s participation in the symposium and briefly explain why the student will benefit.It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their supervisor submits the supporting statement.
