If a submission contains few or no references to this literature (focusing entirely on, for example, computer vision or computer graphics), that submission might not be appropriate for IEEE VR and may be desk rejected. *Review Process* The review process will have two cycles. *Review Cycle I (Submission to Initial Notification)* Submissions will be assigned to two members of the VR 2026 International Program Committee (IPC): a coordinator (primary) and a secondary reviewer. Submissions that violate the submission guidelines or that receive low review scores from both the coordinator and the secondary reviewer will be rejected early. This stage of the review process will be double blind. We will strive to have all other submissions receive a total of at least three reviews. Based on the reviews and in consultation with a subset of the IPC, the Program Chairs will make one of the following initial recommendations for each submission: - *Conditionally accept as IEEE TVCG paper*. Continuing our cooperation with the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), the top submissions will be considered for publication in a special issue of IEEE TVCG. - *Conditionally accept as conference paper.* These submissions will be considered for inclusion in the Proceedings of IEEE VR, archived in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. - *Reject.* *Review Cycle II (Initial notification to Final decision)* Each conditionally accepted paper's revision will be reviewed by its coordinator, who will make a final recommendation to the Program Chairs regarding acceptance. If the conditions for acceptance are not met, the paper will be rejected. *Additional Guidelines* *Abstract Submission* Note that a paper abstract must be uploaded seven days prior to the actual paper submission deadline. This facilitates the process of assigning reviewers, as the review process operates on a very tight schedule. *Ethics and Responsibility* All submissions describing research experiments with human participants must follow the appropriate ethical guidelines required by the authors' institution(s), and authors are required to secure and report their approval by the relevant ethics committee prior to collecting data. An approval by any ethical review board, if required by your institution, needs to be indicated via the submission system. Authors will be required to submit the name of the ethical review board, approved protocol title and number, and the date that ethical approval was obtained prior to running human participants. Authors must be able to provide proof of ethical approval upon request. Incorrect reporting of ethical approval will result in desk rejection. *Participant Diversity* To support high-quality research, all submissions describing research with human participants should strive for participant diversity. As first steps toward this goal, VR 2026 is encouraging the following: - Research that aims to benefit a general population should be representative of that population. (e.g., balanced across gender or age). Research that claims to benefit a specific population should clearly state and justify its focus on that population (e.g., pilots, surgeons). - All submissions must report participant demographics (gender, age, etc.). Notes about recruiting representative populations: - Recruiting more diverse samples does not imply that the research must treat these data as independent variables and analyze differences in independent variables between demographic groups. - Recruiting more diverse samples does not increase the number of participants required for adequate statistical power given an effect size. - Many ethics review boards and funding sources already require participant diversity for inclusive and unbiased research. The VR 2026 program committee and external reviewers will be strongly encouraged to consider participant diversity in relation to the generality of a submission's claims as a first-order reviewing concern. Submissions that make general claims yet rely on a severely imbalanced participant group may be negatively impacted by the reviewing process. *Review Duties for Authors* The increasing number of submissions for IEEE VR makes us all dependent on a large number of good reviewers who are willing to provide constructive feedback and engage with authors on their work. Every paper needs three quality reviews. To expand the reviewing pool and to promote quality reviews, for each submitted paper, each senior author will be required to register to review at least one paper through PCS at the time of submission - although more would obviously be welcome. Additionally, senior authors are encouraged to ask experienced junior authors to register in PCS to review papers, and then to mentor the experienced junior authors during the review process. *Presentation at the Conference* All accepted submissions must be presented orally at the conference. An in-person presentation is expected, and online presentations will be accommodated only in exceptional cases. Requests for online presentations due to exceptional cases must be made at least one month before the conference. *Submission Language* All paper submissions must be in English. *Previous Publication and Plagiarism* Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published. A manuscript is considered to have been previously published if it has appeared in a peer-reviewed journal, magazine, book, or meeting proceedings that is reliably and permanently available afterward in print or electronic form to non-attendees, regardless of the language of that publication. A manuscript identical or substantially similar in content (in its entirety or in part) to one submitted to VR should not be simultaneously under consideration for another conference or journal during any part of the VR review process, from the submission deadline until notifications of decisions are emailed to authors. In some situations, a submission may build upon prior work. In order to fully explain the relationship between the submitted paper and prior work, authors may upload additional papers as well as a non-anonymous letter of explanation that highlights the significant changes or advances; these materials will only be seen by the primary reviewer. Specifically, this treatment is applied to the following cases: - non-peer-reviewed works that are publicly available (on arXiv, as a technical report, etc.) - non-archival publications presented in past IEEE VR conferences (posters, demos, etc.) Submissions will be checked for plagiarism using IEEE Crosscheck. Detection of significant plagiarism will lead to rejection. The AI system used shall be identified, and specific sections of the article that use AI-generated content shall be identified and accompanied by a brief explanation regarding the level at which the AI system was used to generate the content. *Submission Anonymity* ** IEEE VR uses a DOUBLE-BLIND review process ** This means that both the authors and the reviewers must remain anonymous to each other. Hello, The Information Interfaces Group at Georgia Tech is recruiting participants who are willing to volunteer their time to take a 30-minute online survey. You will not receive any compensation, but your participation will greatly help our ongoing research. Please see more information below. We are seeking participants for a study to help us understand the questions that arise when users of a data visualization system are conducting visual data analysis. We especially intend to understand the types of open-ended questions that arise which cannot be directly answered using the data or visualization at hand. EuroVis 2026: Call for workshops - 1st Reminder https://eurovis.org.uk/workshops/ We solicit workshops related to all areas of visualization. These informal workshops in EuroVis provide a setting for participants to discuss advanced topics in visualization, involve experts in the field, disseminate work in progress, and promote new ideas. Workshops at EuroVis are open to all registered attendees (“invitation only” workshops will not be approved). Important Dates * Proposal Submission: Monday, September 29, 2025 * Notification: Monday, October 13, 2025 All deadlines are at 11:59 pm (23:59) AoE Anywhere on Earth (AoE<https://time.is/Anywhere_on_Earth>) Workshops should: * Emphasize emerging ideas, concepts, or technologies that are currently too nascent or too interdisciplinary for a full symposium; * Encourage information flow not solely from the presenters to the audience but rather engage the participation of all attendees, for example, through collective or small group discussions. Possible topics may include emerging or persisting problems, developing research agendas, networking to find common interests and possibilities for cooperation, interacting with domain experts involving analysis of their domain problems, etc. When choosing workshop topics to propose, please consider pre-approved workshops and try to avoid large overlaps: * EGPGV * EuroVA Note that workshops remain extremely well attended, but as new associated events and publication formats are introduced to EuroVis, the number of submitted papers may drop from previous years. So, a more interactive format (rather than one based mainly on presentations of submitted papers) is encouraged. Submission requirements Workshop proposals should include: * a title, * the contact details of the organizers, * a brief description of the organizers’ background, related publications, and research, * the planned activities (e.g., mainly talks, mainly interactive sessions, a mix), including an outline schedule for the program—workshops are strongly encouraged, though not required, to consider ways to engage all participants interactively, * the intended result and impact of the workshop, * a brief justification for why this workshop is necessary (e.g., why would the topic benefit from a more informal setting, in what ways is the topic emergent or a relatively poor fit for the main conference program, etc.), * a chosen measure for a successful CFP (e.g., number of submissions), possibly including an outline for a “backup policy” (e.g., changing the workshop format or voluntarily withdrawing the workshop before acceptance notification is sent, but should not require the workshop organizers to submit emergency papers to their own workshop), * a statement of the organization and the development of the list of participants (intended size, detailed selection procedures, and timeline for finalizing workshop presenters), * a list of any special technology needed, * the number of poster slots requested, if the workshop intends to feature posters, and * the proposed dates for the call for participation, author notification, and camera-ready deadlines (author notification must be before the early registration deadline for EuroVis; for inclusion of materials in the EG digital library and/or the downloadable proceedings, the camera-ready deadline must be 4 weeks prior to the conference). Because the number of workshop time slots is limited, half-day workshop proposals are strongly encouraged. However, well-justified full-day proposals will also be considered. Full-day proposals may optionally state what changes would be implemented to allow the workshop schedule to fit within a half day. If the proposed workshop is a follow-up of a previous workshop, please include a critical reflection of the prior workshop(s), including a discussion of the results and evidence of impact. The proposal should not exceed four pages. Evaluation criteria The workshops aim to include various topics and a healthy mix of new and recurring events. Repeat submissions will be partially judged by the previous workshop's success. Workshop success will be judged subjectively, but popularity, research impact, visibility, and attendee feedback will all be considered. Specifically, the workshop proposals will be evaluated according to the following criteria: * The potential for inspiring people, being influential, and opening new lines of research, * The degree to which the workshop provides a more interactive environment for participants—all things being equal, preference will be given to workshops that emphasize participant interaction, * The coherence of the proposed topic and the degree to which it would benefit from a workshop environment, * The ability to attract people and make them excited about the workshop, * The appropriateness with respect to EuroVis topics, * If this workshop has special needs, the feasibility of the proposed plan, including financial, logistics, scheduling, and coordination impact, is also important. The workshop chairs will balance the proposed topics to support the diversity of topics within EuroVis and complement the main program. Organizers should consider what steps they will take to encourage diverse participants in their workshop (e.g., a balance of experience, background, gender, etc.) to make participation as inclusive as possible. If accepted, workshops are required to prepare a short summary (50–100 words) for the workshop website and the web program. Workshop Support The workshop organizers will receive the following support from the EuroVis conference: * One complimentary 1-day registration for an invited speaker, * Room and AV support suitable for around 50 attendees, * Food and beverages for attendees: coffee breaks throughout the day, Sunday evening opening reception, space in the poster display area, if requested (from a limited pool set aside for standard workshops; available space depends on the specifics of the venue; early requests given priority over late requests), * PCS (Precision Conference Solutions) support for managing submissions and the review process, * EuroGraphics Digital Library publication of the workshop proceedings, if requested (considered archival). Workshops should have a call for papers and therefore typically feature several regular paper presentations. These can be complemented with other activities such as invited talks, panels, demos, roundtables, and hands-on sessions. *Special sessions* provide organizers with an opportunity to host a session about a dedicated topic related to the conference as part of the technical program. Organizers are expected to recruit submissions, invite speakers, and take other related actions to organize their sessions. They should have a separate call for papers and typically feature at least four paper presentations, which can be complemented with other activities, such as invited talks or panels. Workshops & special sessions will be integrated into the main conference, which will take place from Jan 26-28, 2025, in Osaka, Japan. Formatting Instructions The sketch, as well as the full version submission of the STAR, should be submitted as a PDF file using the EuroVis 2026 LaTeX2e Style template. Please make sure that images embedded in your paper do not contain transparent pixels (i.e., an alpha channel of a transparent color), because this will lead to problems when the resulting PDF is displayed or printed. Submissions can also include supplementary material such as videos or executable programs. The server will accept uploads of at most 200 MB, so multiple files of over 200 MB must be submitted separately. Please use only the most common video codecs (e.g., MP4 format using the H.264 codec) to maximize the chances that the reviewers can see it. Any work that has previously been published or has simultaneously been submitted in a substantially similar form to any other conference or journal will be rejected. All STARs accepted to EuroVis 2026 appear in a special issue of Computer Graphics Forum, containing the conference proceedings, and will appear at the same time in the Eurographics Digital Library. At EuroVis 2026, the authors of a STAR will be invited to present their report at a level that also allows non-experts in the particular domain to follow. If a submission contains few or no references to this literature (focusing entirely on, for example, computer vision or computer graphics), that submission might not be appropriate for IEEE VR and may be desk rejected. *Review Process* The review process will have two cycles. *Review Cycle I (Submission to Initial Notification)* Submissions will be assigned to two members of the VR 2026 International Program Committee (IPC): a coordinator (primary) and a secondary reviewer. Submissions that violate the submission guidelines or that receive low review scores from both the coordinator and the secondary reviewer will be rejected early. This stage of the review process will be double blind. We will strive to have all other submissions receive a total of at least three reviews. Based on the reviews and in consultation with a subset of the IPC, the Program Chairs will make one of the following initial recommendations for each submission: - *Conditionally accept as IEEE TVCG paper*. Continuing our cooperation with the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), the top submissions will be considered for publication in a special issue of IEEE TVCG. - *Conditionally accept as conference paper.* These submissions will be considered for inclusion in the Proceedings of IEEE VR, archived in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. - *Reject.* *Review Cycle II (Initial notification to Final decision)* Each conditionally accepted paper's revision will be reviewed by its coordinator, who will make a final recommendation to the Program Chairs regarding acceptance. If the conditions for acceptance are not met, the paper will be rejected. *Additional Guidelines* *Abstract Submission* Note that a paper abstract must be uploaded seven days prior to the actual paper submission deadline. This facilitates the process of assigning reviewers, as the review process operates on a very tight schedule. *Ethics and Responsibility* All submissions describing research experiments with human participants must follow the appropriate ethical guidelines required by the authors' institution(s), and authors are required to secure and report their approval by the relevant ethics committee prior to collecting data. An approval by any ethical review board, if required by your institution, needs to be indicated via the submission system. Authors will be required to submit the name of the ethical review board, approved protocol title and number, and the date that ethical approval was obtained prior to running human participants. Authors must be able to provide proof of ethical approval upon request. Incorrect reporting of ethical approval will result in desk rejection. *Participant Diversity* To support high-quality research, all submissions describing research with human participants should strive for participant diversity. As first steps toward this goal, VR 2026 is encouraging the following: - Research that aims to benefit a general population should be representative of that population. (e.g., balanced across gender or age). Research that claims to benefit a specific population should clearly state and justify its focus on that population (e.g., pilots, surgeons). - All submissions must report participant demographics (gender, age, etc.). Notes about recruiting representative populations: - Recruiting more diverse samples does not imply that the research must treat these data as independent variables and analyze differences in independent variables between demographic groups. - Recruiting more diverse samples does not increase the number of participants required for adequate statistical power given an effect size. - Many ethics review boards and funding sources already require participant diversity for inclusive and unbiased research. The VR 2026 program committee and external reviewers will be strongly encouraged to consider participant diversity in relation to the generality of a submission's claims as a first-order reviewing concern. Submissions that make general claims yet rely on a severely imbalanced participant group may be negatively impacted by the reviewing process. *Review Duties for Authors* The increasing number of submissions for IEEE VR makes us all dependent on a large number of good reviewers who are willing to provide constructive feedback and engage with authors on their work. Every paper needs three quality reviews. To expand the reviewing pool and to promote quality reviews, for each submitted paper, each senior author will be required to register to review at least one paper through PCS at the time of submission - although more would obviously be welcome. Additionally, senior authors are encouraged to ask experienced junior authors to register in PCS to review papers, and then to mentor the experienced junior authors during the review process. *Presentation at the Conference* All accepted submissions must be presented orally at the conference. An in-person presentation is expected, and online presentations will be accommodated only in exceptional cases. Requests for online presentations due to exceptional cases must be made at least one month before the conference. *Submission Language* All paper submissions must be in English. *Previous Publication and Plagiarism* Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published.
