We are particularly interested in work addressing creativity from multiple critical perspectives, including agency, interfaces, and ethics, in relation to the themes and topics of AVI 2026. Both long and short submissions must describe original, unpublished research. All papers will undergo rigorous peer review by a distinguished international panel of experts. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION FORMAT Long and short papers must be anonymized, removing information (such as authorship, acknowledgments, name of an application, software, or project) that can suggest the authors' identity. Citation to authors' previous work should not be anonymous and should be in third person in the text, e.g., "As described by [10]" and not "As described in our previous work [10]". All the papers mentioned above require online submission. Specific information concerning the submission (e.g., submission format, proceeding specifications) will be made available on the AVI website. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Since its first edition in 1992, AVI has become an influential space for encounters among scholars and practitioners interested in interfaces, interactions, and experiences. Rooted in pioneering research on visual interfaces characterized by a distinctive attention to the human factor, the conference has evolved across the different waves of Human-Computer Interaction. It has addressed the pragmatic and hedonic needs of heterogeneous groups of users up to the current challenge of self-actualization. Creativity is a core behavior that leads to the realization of a person’s full potential, and the explosion of generative AI presents both opportunities and challenges to human creativity. They address fundamental issues related to agencies, interfaces, and ethics. AVI 2026 will take place in San Servolo, a small island in Venice. This delicate and fragile ecosystem provides the ideal venue for reflecting, reframing, and speculating about creative solutions to more sustainable, inclusive and rewarding technological futures. AVI is an International Conference considering the nationality of participants, authors, and organizing committees. However, it has always taken place in Italy, thus complementing a strong and diverse research program with carefully selected cultural and social activities alongside a distinct sense of hospitality and conviviality. Dear colleagues, Université Paris-Saclay (France) is offering a 24-month postdoctoral position at INRAE <https://mia-ps.inrae.fr/>, in collaboration with Inria <https://ilda.saclay.inria.fr/index.html>, on data visualization and decision support for sustainable winemaking. The postdoc will focus on user-centered design, prototyping and evaluating innovative visualization and interaction techniques for dynamic, multidimensional data from wine fermentation, with an emphasis on human-AI interaction, ambient visualization and uncertainty visualization. We are looking for a candidate with practical and research experience in data visualization, ideally with a background in interdisciplinary work involving AI or modelling. Dear colleagues, The AIxVR Steering Committee is inviting expressions of interest to host AIxVR 2027. AIxVR has become a premier international conference at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Extended/Virtual Reality, rotating annually between American, European, and Asian time zones. Following this principle, the 2027 edition is expected to take place in or near the American time zone. We are now seeking informal proposals from potential host institutions. At this stage, we ask only for high-level information about the organizers, proposed location and venue, and feasibility of costs. No detailed budget or signed venue contract is required. At EuroVis 2026, the authors of a STAR will be invited to present their report at a level that also allows non-experts in the particular domain to follow.
