All submissions must be original work not under review at any other workshop, conference, or journal. The workshop will accept papers describing completed work (full paper) as well as work in progress (short paper). Two submission formats are accepted: a) 4 pages plus 1-page reference (short paper); or b) 8 pages plus up to 2-page reference (full paper). Peer Review and publication in ACM Digital Library. Paper submissions must conform with the “double-blind” review policy. Project 1: Next generation HR: Conversational Interfaces and Large-Language Models for Empathic Human-Robot Interaction The project aims to explore how the use of AI could enhance various interface types beyond the usual web forms to better support staff training, facilitation and arbitration at meetings. This could take the form of an embodied conversational interface, using technology such as Large-Language Models (LLMs), integrated into a physical robot. The research goals are to investigate how LLMs can be adapted in real-time using multi-modal situational awareness, what capabilities an intelligent robot embodiment focussed on HR should have, and to understand how people would interact and behave around it. Project 2: Human-Centred AI for Productivity The project aims to explore the options to use human-centred AI to improve productivity, which is a core concern of many of sponsor’s customers. One possibility is to leverage the new data that is becoming available, such as user interactions with computer systems and those collected through wearables. The data will then be analysed with the latest AI and Machine Learning methods, with the goal to use the insight from the analysis to design the least intrusive intervention needed in a HR software solution setting that can improve productivity effectively and ethically. Although most people have never been trained to understand and use maps as a form of visualization with many underlying peculiarities and subjective biases inherent in their design and representation, most map-based interfaces and interactions are assumed to be effective and usable by ordinary everyday users. The main aim of this workshop is to provide a collaborative informal venue for its participants to showcase their latest design, research, or professional work on map-based interfaces and interactions, and to share their diverse practical expertise, best practices, learnings, and experiences with others. In particular, this workshop focuses on the development of more effective maps and map-like visualizations in supporting non-expert users in performing their daily tasks. This workshop is part of INTERACT 2025, and is supported by the IFIP TC 13 Working Group on Human-Centred Technology for Sustainability. *CALL FOR PARTICIPATION* ----------------------- The main objective of this workshop is to provide a collaborative informal venue for its participants to showcase their latest design, research, or professional work on map-based interfaces and interactions and to share their diverse practical expertise, best practices, learnings, and experiences with each other. Through this, the workshop also aims to help the participants to further develop their work and contribute to future research and design in their specific fields in an interdisciplinary manner. International candidates are welcome !!! Topic: We aim to explore novel ways to organize deliberation processes. Deliberation is an important mechanism for decision-making, particularly on divisive issues. Physical computer-supported data representations have the potential to support such processes by providing a common external representation of the discussion including participants’ opinions and arguments. We will investigate the current artifact ecologies of deliberation organizers and explore the use of computer-supported physical data representations to facilitate deliberation through a participatory design approach. This work will provide a new understanding of the role of physicalization in deliberation, novel tools for deliberation organizers and a toolkit accessible to the public.
