CDVE2019 Call for Papers - The 16th International Conference on Cooperative Design, Visualization and Engineering The 16th International Conference on Cooperative Design, Visualization and Engineering - CDVE2019 will be held from October 6-9, 2019 in Mallorca, Spain. You are welcome to submit unpublished papers to the conference. The conference proceedings of CDVE2019 will be published by the LNCS - Lecture Notes in Computer Science by Springer and indexed by ISI(CPCI-S), Web of Science, EI, Scopus, DBLP, ACM Digital Library. Selected papers will be invited to fully expand to be included in special issues of a couple SCI indexed journals. The topics of the paper should be within the scope of the conference. See the conference web page http://www.cdve.org/cfpaper.html for detailed information. At least one keyword of your paper should be chosen from the call of papers. All the papers should follow the LNCS format restrictively. The submission page is: http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cdve2019 Abstract submission - 2 pages, Feb 15, 2019. This step is recommended not compulsory. You can submit a paper without submitting an abstract. You will get some feedback about your abstract. Dear colleagues, Please find below the call for papers for EuroVA 2019 - EuroVis Workshop on Visual Analytics. We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of EuroVA !! EuroVA 2019 Workshop EuroVA 2019 (http://www.eurova.org) is the tenth international EuroVis workshop on Visual Analytics. It will take place on Monday, June 3, 2019 in Porto, Portugal and is co-located with EuroVis 2019 (https://www.eurovis.org) Visual Analytics is a problem-solving and sense-making technology that integrates analytical computations, visual representations, and interaction. It includes the analysis of complex (massive, dynamic, uncertain, …) data and information for gaining understanding, building knowledge, and inferring insight. Visual Analytics aims at a synergistic collaboration of humans and computers mediated through interactive visual interfaces. As such, Visual Analytics is an interdisciplinary field of research, including aspects of visualization, human-computer interaction, statistics and mathematics, data management and knowledge representation, data analysis and machine learning, cognitive and perceptual sciences, and more. EuroVA 2019 is the premier workshop to present and discuss fresh ideas on new methods and theories, novel applications, designs, and studies on the use of Visual Analytics methods and systems. The workshop will accept a wide range of contributions within the broad area of Visual Analytics, including novel techniques, systems, applications, evaluation studies and methods, and theoretical foundations, as well as fresh viewpoints on future challenges and critical reflections. Proceedings will be published in EG Digital Library. As a new development this year, selected papers are planned to be invited to submit their extended paper to a special issue of ACM TIIS (* subject to final approval). VASPE'19: International Workshop on Visual Analytics in Supercomputing and Performance Engineering 2019 Mumbai, India, April 2019 Conference website: https://vaspe.gitlab.io Submission link: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=vaspe19 Both high performance computing (HPC) and performance engineering (PE) experts are facing the challenge of analyzing, comparing, visualizing, and reasoning about ever increasing volumes of performance-related data. While HPC typically deals with massively parallel simulation codes being executed on supercomputers, PE focuses on distributed, reliable software systems. Due to the scale of performance-related data and the open-ended nature of analyzing it, visualization (VIS) and data analytics are often the only feasible tools to comprehend, debug, and improve the performance behavior of systems and/or codes. This is becoming ever more important, since the scale of performance-related data keeps rapidly growing. However the research communities in HPC, PE, and VIS are mostly disjunct. VASPE '19 aims at gathering experts from (i) the HPC community, (ii) the PE community, and (iii) the VIS community in order to breed cross-community algorithms, techniques, and systems for analyzing and visualizing performance-related data. Workshop Topics Topics include, but are not limited to: • Scalable displays of performance data • Data models to enable scalable visualization • Graph representation of unstructured performance data • Presentation of high-dimensional data • Visual correlations between multiple data source • Human-Computer Interfaces for exploring performance data • Multi-scale representations of performance data for visual exploration • Data analytics of historical performance data • Machine learning or statistical techniques for data exploration Call for Papers We solicit 6–8 page full papers and 2–4 page short papers that focus on techniques at the intersection of the three communities HPC, PE, and VIS that either use visualization techniques to display large scale performance data or that develop new visualization or visual analytics methods that help create new insights. We welcome submissions presenting novel and experimental ideas as well as tool descriptions. Papers must be submitted as a PDF file in the ACM Standard proceedings format, and formatted for 8.5" x 11" (U.S. Letter). The 4-page and 8-page limits include figures, tables, and references. Papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the program committee and accepted papers will be published by ACM as part of ICPE 2019 proceedings. Accepted papers will also be presented during the workshop as a paper talk (~20 min) or a lightning presentation (~10 min). All papers must be submitted through EasyChair. Hi, We are looking for a PhD student to be part of a large-scale project about the new generation of cost effective, robust, high-performance, low-energy buildings. This PhD will be supervised by Dr Raplh Evins from Civil Engineering and Dr Charles Perin from Computer Science, and will focus on visualizing multi-dimensional building data, machine learning and optimization models for decision making in designing new buildings.
